YAY for pictures!

Thanks for opening up the image gallery again - I was bereft of a place to study fashion for simply too long. :)

Thanks, but the image gallery uses neither - it is a Lotus Domino database. Plus what I have been working on (which I finished last night) was getting Apache serving up the PERL for this board (Domino's support for PERL is limited), the static HTML for this site and the others on the server, and so I could get PHP working for future applications. The Apache server is now a reverse proxy for the Domino-based areas of this and other sites (like my personal site and Valerian's personal site), which now gives me better control over caching and the ability to use Apache directives to stop people from hotlinking to pictures. I'll be putting up an art-gallery section soon (Domino based) that I really don't want people ganking images from, plus Valerian and I already have a problem with people hotlinking to stuff in our own portfolios and image galleries.

I've wanted to get Apache in front of things for months now. It feels good to have it done.

The main reason the photo gallery isn't back 100% yet, though, is the media attention isn't entirely over. It's pretty trivial to turn pictures on and off the way I have it set up. I put a few back to see what kind of jump in traffic I would get. Most of the money for this site comes out of my pocket and while a lot of that is money I would be spending anyway I really don't need to be nailed for bandwidth surcharges over a bunch of "tourists" wandering though.

It will be a while before everything is back (only about 4% of the pictures are available right now). I'm working on a few things right now to improve the site. I'll be "sneaking" more pictures back as time goes by.
