Gay Goth Boys

Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere to meet gay goth boys in Vancouver...Or knows any...

Actually hi!

I am a gay goth from Melbourne Australia where the Goth Scene thrives and Goths hang out in the doorways of the large hundred year old churches at night. Weird but true.

I have been living in Van for three years and have slowly lost touch with the culture. I don't go to Gay bars much mainly because i can't stant hearing madonna and I don't feel comfortable. I also have a partner too but he is straight laced and pretty normal.

If you want to email me, I am looking for a few new friends online and it might help to get me back into the scene.

Dan :-)

Just go to any of the regular nights like Descent and Sanctuary, or the fetish nights such as Sin City and the upcoming Noir.

I know from your previous post that you are coming from Lethbridge and don't know Vancouver well, so the huge crossover between the goth and gay club scenes is going to be new to you.

The goth club scene in Vancouver has always been closely related to the gay club scene. Once upon a time, in the 80's when there were no regular alternative club nights, gay bars, like the now legendary (and long gone) Luv-a-fair were places goths could go to not get hassled and dance to music that didn't suck.

Club 23 West where Sanctuary and Sin City happen has been (under various names) primarily a gay bar for decades. The Sin City Hallowe'en party (on Hallowe'en) will be a Celebrities, a large, world-renowned gay bar in the heart of Vancouver's "gaybourhood."

There is also Club 560, which, like Celebrities, is usually more mainstream-gay (two words that you *can* put together in Vancouver) but has the occasional event that swings more into the goth/alternative realm, such as the upcoming "Spellbound" Siouxsie-themed party coming up on October 23.

Take a look at the calendar on the site here for events, get out to the clubs, and talk to people.
