Hello from a situationally confused goth type girl

Sooooo.  Hello Vancouverish people.    :)

I've been having a browse around and in a moment of mad impetuosity thought I might post on here.  I am slightly taken aback by my  burst of net confidence... so forgive me if I chatter nervously  :-/

I imagine it would be useful to start by explaining what a gothic normally in the UK is doing on here...  I had the rather large pleasure of living in Vancouver for just over a year, plus coming back for month- two month visits over the last year.  I fell right in with the fetish scene and made some beautiful lovely friends there who I stay well in touch with.  BUT.  My more goth side feels neglected.  I went to Sanctuary a couple of times but, well, let's just say I find the whole "net working" thing a bit intimidating when you go to a club and don't really know anyone.    Loved the club though, and the mix of music which is quite different from what you get over here.

Getting to the point now... I'm coming back to Vancouver for a month in mid July and would like to say hi before I get there and maybe then find a couple of people to say hi to at Sanctuary or DV8 or... where ever really.

So hi to all, all posts answered in true contact mag style, and if you see a tall plump English goth around July-Aug, it might be me and I'd love to pass the time of day.  That's probably enough for now!    :X

Take care of yourselves.

PS: And if you're asking what this could do for you, then at least if you ever come over to the UK I can point you in the right direction here.  I'm also very adept at tasting the authenticity of Strongbow Cider.  If you have need for a webpal with that particular talent I'm your girl.

i am flogging my crew - we'll be there.  Both long weekends actually - it's too much fun.  Although when mr. dark opened up with the saw and the sparks felt like they were setting my hair on fire...it was a little alarming....hope to see you there.

Hi Valerian... Thanks for saying hello... always a pleasure to meet a person with similar 'tastes'!  I'll definitely say hi again before I arrive...

I will still be around for the 1 August holiday so it sounds like Sanctuary that night at least might be a plan.  I would imagine the sheer irresponsibility of most all not having to work the next day must be rather marvellous.  I went to a London EBM night on our recent long weekend and it was amazing too.  So great that some trends are international!!

Freaker... might you be there?  Bit early to be planning August, I know... but the water bottle would probably like the outing?!

Oh, we're going to get along juuuuuust fine!!!  'Tis my favorite bevvy!

Well make sure you keep in touch - give us a reminder when you'll be in town once the date gets closer.  It's too bad you won't be here over a long weekend (July 1 or Aug 1), because long-weekend Sundays at Sanctuary are awesome!

np - I am normally not social (how atypical for men!).  It seems very polite to say hi.  I've been to Sanctuary once and loved it (but it was my birthday and a long weekend so who wouldn't?) but I've been to several Sin Cities and will be going again in June and July.  I hope to catch another Sanctuary in that time period.  I'll be 6'2"ish, in PVC of some sort with a really funky glowing water bottle =). It's a trademark now.  Come say hi.

Afternoon Atratus, and a how do you do to Freaker.

The accent thing has been a bit of a blessing and a curse, tho more a blessing it has to be said.  I kept getting accused of being Australian which worried me slightly.  I hadn't realised we sounded so similar.  Clearly there is nothing wrong with being mistaken for an australian goth type.

I shall practice to be sure that this confusion does not persist over the summer...

the rayne in spayne fawlls maynlee on the playne.

Sounds dreamy  ;)

Ta for saying hello... most appreciated.
