Victorian-style boots?

I am looking for a pair of boots that would go with more formal wear rather than fetish/industrial styles. Are there any stores in the Lower Mainland that sell that kind of style, or any people who can custom-make boots in that style?

Apologies for the slow reply.

The boots DEFINITELY aren't as nice as the ones that Valerian has pictured, but they were about thirty-five dollars.

So since the boots are custom-made to order, I just told them that I needed them to meet my foot measurements (they do this willing ly, at no extra charge).

That's excellent.  The first website I asked about a similar style said it is "not its custom" to bloody tell me what the measurements of a given size are.  Fine, but it's not my custom to drop $200 on a pair of boots that probably will not fit me properly the first go around.

I measured my own foot and sent them the measurements.  I do not trust US shoe sizing because I've worn everything from a 5 1/2 to a 7 in made-in-USA boots before.  So since the boots are custom-made to order, I just told them that I needed them to meet my foot measurements (they do this willing ly, at no extra charge).  I just stood on a ruler and measured the total length (tip of longest toe to heel) and across the very widest point (across ball of foot).   And they do fit perfectly.  The only down side was because they are in the US, and they are made to order, it took 8 weeks for me to get them.

I bought the calf-high Victorians with the #14 heel, and they are a lot more detailed than you can see in their photos:

I *love* how pointy the tops are!!!

I recently bought some custom-fit boots from a place in the US called My Vintage Sole which are historically accurate reproductions.

Those boots are lovely.  How did the company go about fitting you? I have my eye on the knee-high Victorians, as usual...

Yeah, I'd like to know, too!

My only problem is that I hate snubby round toes.  If it's got at least some sort of tapered toe (as pointy as possible) I'm sold.  I recently bought some custom-fit boots from a place in the US called My Vintage Sole which are historically accurate reproductions.  I highly recommend them. But the next time I head out to wal-Mart for craft supplies, I'm checking out the shoe section!!

Yeah, they are in style. I actually saw a pair at (GASP) Wal-Mart, for a lot less then an arm and a leg. I can't remember the exact price, but if you're looking for cheap, I suggest checking them out. : D

It seems those types of boots are "in style" these days....maybe check out any higher quality shoe store? I've found a great pair in black velvet and button details that way... of course, they cost an arm and a leg, so they aren't mine :(

Good luck
