History Telvision's Barbarian Series

Hey all,

I know it's seemingly unrelated, but does anyone else plan on catching the Barabarians series on History Television?  Vikings, Huns, and yes... Goths.  Obviously different from the modern usage of the term, but upon reflection of some of the posts on the forum that discuss the changes in the modern Goth culture (and the use of labels), I thought it might be fun to see the ancients from a documentarian's point of view.  (Is documentarian even a word?)  Tonight is Vikings, which I might end up watching anyway.  Here's a link to the History TV website, if anyone is interested.

I happen to find the following quotation particularly intriguing.

"the savage tribes that hurled themselves against the bastions of civilization"

It's kind of interesting to consider that phrase along side what I know of the inception and growth of the Modern Gothic Sub-culture.

Food for thought.

I'll see if I can manage my VCR well enough to record the Barbarians for you, just in case mom falls through.  And if Jan 30th rolls by before I see you, I'll see if I'm savy enough to add it.

As to the channels, hmmm...  History, Space, and The Gothic Porn Network. ;) Am I close?

Oh, man, I would *love* to see that.  We don't have cable anymore, one of the reasons being that we only ever watched maybe three channels (I wonder if you can guess what they were).  There's going to be a program about Pompeii on Jan. 30th, can't remember the details exactly but damn, I gotta get my mom to tape that for us.
